Story 4 - Marek

 

Family is very important chain and if is broken,  bad things will happen.
      Story 4 - Marek
      Poland,  1999. Marek was a nice boy. He had one sister. Dad left them long time ago, Marek didn't even remember him. Mum did everything what she could to keep them safe, but after a while she started to have a problem with alcohol and didn't really know what was happening the house. Family tried to help them and one of the uncles started to come more often to see them. That's the time, when Marek's nightmare begins.
   Uncle was visiting more and more and started to stay overnight, to put children to bed or finished what was left to do in the house. That time Marek's mum was drinking a lot, so no-one suspected nothing. One night his uncle started to come to Marek's bedroom, at firs he just looked at him. Than one day the worse happened. Marek was only 8 and he didn't know what he has done wrong and why uncle is always hurting him. His nightmares lasted until he turned 16 and run away from home. Marek tried to tell his mum what has happened but she didn't believe him. Nobody believed him. So he decided to take his life in his own hands.
     Now he is working with people, who had the same bad experience like him. He believes that talking to them or even being for them can change their world. Something which no-one ever did for him. He struggles everyday with his past and he will never go over that terrible childhood. Marek has a lot of hope for others, but this world is a crazy place. More and more cases of ABUSE come every day to his work place.
